It’s official! The kid known as Khalid from El Paso, Texas is back with a new project called Suncity. It’s been a minute since the twenty year old dropped his debut album, American Teen. Since then, he’s dropped a few features here and there on Logic’s Everybody album and 6lack’s “OTW”, but it’s never been enough to hold us over. Today, the “Location” singer followed up on his single, “Better”, with a new short project inspired by his hometown.
On the project, Khalid gets things going with tracks like “Vertigo” and “Saturday Nights” before ending with “Motion” and “Better”. There are no features on the project, but Khalid does well handling things on his own for this one. From start to finish, it’s easy to hear the singer’s growth musically and personally. As he puts it, this project is the next step in his career and the “start of a new era”.
