On Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, Edwin De Los Santos will challenge Keyshawn Davis for the men’s WBO Lightweight Championship.
Davis is a 26-year-old Olympic silver medalist who quickly rose through the professional ranks by beating the likes of José Pedraza, Anthony Yigit, and Miguel Madueno before dethroning reigning men’s WBO Lightweight Champion Denys Berinchyk in February. This summer, Davis and his brothers will return to his hometown for the second Top Rank card in Norfolk over the last year. Previously, Davis stopped Gustavo Lemos in two rounds to the sound of cheers from his hometown fanbase this past November.
“Norfolk and the Seven Cities, get ready for another spectacular show,” Keyshawn Davis told Top Rank. “My first main event at Scope Arena was like something out of a movie, and the sequel will be even better. Kelvin and Keon will set the tone, and I’ll make it a 3-0 evening for DB3. Edwin has had a lot to say recently, but he will be awfully quiet after I get through with him on June 7.”
De Los Santos may present one of the toughest tests of Davis’s young career. The southpaw out of Santo Domingo will enter the ring with a professional record of 16-2 with 14 knockouts. He has scored big wins against the likes of Joseph Adorno and Jose Valenzuela, but he did fall short in his last title opportunity against Shakur Stevenson nearly two years ago. Over 12 rounds, he landed a CompuBox record-low 40 punches. Since then, he has been inactive for more than 16 months.
“I want to thank Keyshawn Davis for giving me the opportunity to become the WBO champion. Thank you to Top Rank and my promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, as well. It will be a great fight, but Keyshawn has made his first big mistake as a professional by choosing to face me,” De Los Santos said. “I will prove how big of a mistake it is on June 7. I will come to Norfolk in perfect shape and looking for a knockout.”
