With the NBA Playoffs under a week away. All teams with something to play for are kicking it up a notch. And from all the things we saw last night I for one cannot wait for the Playoffs… Lets recap the madness in the past 24 hours.
San Antonio Clinches The West: After the franchise record win streak a few weeks ago it was inevitable that San Antonio would clinch the Western Conference. And with the 112-104 win against a Phoenix side fighting for Playoff contention their current record of 62-18 is the best in the West and the whole NBA. Playoffs await for the Spurs.
Paul Pierce Enters The 25k Club: As an amazing career carries on, so does his point total. Paul Pierce, with his 3 pointer in the 2nd quarter against Atlanta, joins Kobe, Dirk and KG as the 4th active player with 25,000 points. Another milestone to a great career.
Curry’s Latest Triple Double Clinches Warriors’ Playoff Berth: Personally, I think Curry is the best point guard in the league next to Chris Paul. He’s an absolute beast and with this triple double in a 112-95 win against the Lakers, the Warriors clinch a much needed Playoff berth.
Miami Even Up The Score Against Indiana: With the battle for first seed in the East going down to the wire, Miami needed to win this, and perfect timing since Indy are what Stan Van Gundy calls “Emotionally Fragile”. Miami dominate Indiana 98-86. The scoreline is closer than the game really was, just look at my favourite stat in the box score. The +/- rating.
Minus for the Indy starting 5.
All plus for the Miami starting 5. Can’t hate those numbers.
Corey Brews up a storm with a career high 51 points Here’s a freak performance if I’ve ever seen one. Corey Brewer has never had a 30+ point game literally explodes for 51 points! How does that happen?!
Only 3 other players have had a 50 point, 6 steal performance. Jordan, Barry, Iverson and now Corey Brewer…
