In the last game of the season for Washington, Kevin Seraphin was called upon for huge moments due to Marcin Gortat being pretty sick. Gortat was limited to only 12 minutes, which gave Seraphin an opportunity to play 28 minutes, in which he scored 13 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and a steal, while also recording a block.
Similar to Drew Gooden, Seraphin was one of those guys who was willing to accept and make the most of any role given to him. He never knew when minutes were going his way, but when they did, Seraphin always made sure to make an impact.
Little did Seraphin know, he was going to be a major contributing factor to the Wizards as their season was coming to an end. This goes to show how he prepared to be a starter even though minutes would come and go.
Following From Washington Post.
“He came in and did a tremendous job for us,” Wizards guard Garrett Temple said. “He was a force offensively, defensively. He was the MVP of the game .. to me. I was very proud of Kevin Seraphin. How he was able to stay professional through the ups and the downs and come in here and have a big, big game tonight.”
It is unlikely a Kevin Seraphin Wizards jersey will be on the court next season, and he will surely be missed. The energy off the bench will be lost, and a great player will move on. He may not be a key player, but he was sure an x-factor in the playoffs.
