While the starters were busy getting some rest during a 111-108 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime, Kevin Seraphin was busy making the most of his opportunities off the bench. Seraphin scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 38 minutes of play. The double-double performance from Seraphin also included 3 blocks, 2 assists, and a steal.
The performance by Seraphin came just 3 days after he was left out of the rotation as he only recorded 1 minute of play in a win over Atlanta. Seraphin proved he deserves to be in the rotation one playoff time comes on Saturday, and Wittman should know he will always give effort when he is put into games.
If Seraphin can continue to perform admirably in the playoffs, he may be finding himself auditioning for a starting role with a team not named the Washington Wizards for next season. At times, Seraphin has struggled to work his way into the Wizards rotation, but could be a piece a team could add if they are in a rebuilding stage, or on the verge of making the playoffs. For now, all Wizards fans and Randy Wittman can ask of Seraphin is to continue to give effort and help the team win games.
