The Rockets have gone 15-8 during this span without Dwight Howard. That starts with the MVP-level play of James Harden, but also a collectively feisty tenacity from their role guys that has kept them competitive.
Howard has a chance to make his return possibly this week when Houston goes to play at New Orleans on Wednesday and at home against Minnesota on Friday. With Howard feeling admittedly “more explosive” and the playoffs just around the corner, sooner rather than later is certainly a good time frame to start easing him back into game shape with a restricted minutes regimen.
