Everyone’s given their opinion on the Oklahoma City trade that sent Sixth Man of the Year James Harden to Houston, while bringing in Kevin Martin to the Thunder. Many have questioned whether the chemistry of the close Thunder group would have been affected but Martin already appears comfortable slotting into that second unit on the floor when stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook take a seat.
Martin, himself a capable scorer, says he’s just waiting for that moment when the Thunder figure it all out and click. That’s when it will spell trouble for the rest of the league.
“It’s just going to be like a mini-training camp for us this month. I feel like with the team that we have and guys that have been through a lot in this league, it could click in a week, two weeks, a month, you never know,” Martin said. “You kind of saw how Miami was. I think they started 8-9 and then they went to Cleveland and it just clicked for them from there.
“So we’re just waiting for that one moment where everybody knows what to expect, and we’ll just go out every night and compete until then.”
