Kevin Love impressed LeBron James back in 2012 with his play being a part of the Gold Medal team during the Olympics. That play in the Olympics may have helped Love win over Lebron and send him to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Over this past summer, Love pulled out of Team USA to focus on his own drama of debating where he would end up playing this year. Cleveland is his home for a few more years and in 2016 Kevin Love hopes to play for Team USA again to hunt for the gold.
Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal reports the following.
“Playing for my country has done a lot of things for my career,” Love said. “Wearing USA across my chest was a great way to feel patriotic. I hope I have another chance in 2016 to be here”
Playing for Team USA is an honor and a priveledge that many other players would hope to have. The rise of Kenneth Faried has the depth at the Forward/Center spot for Team USA looking very deep, but it is very early to decide who will make the team. You can’t imagine that Jerry Colangelo would willing bring back Love with open arms, but you can’t deny his talent.
