There have been several rumors about Kevin Love ditching Cleveland already. And we’ve just passed a month on the NBA season.
Kevin Love has whined a lot about not getting enough touches. LeBron has even spoken on it publicly saying “If he wants the ball, he can have it.” and now that the Cavs have gelled finally, it means that Love is getting his touches. He isn’t whining anymore. If fact, while being a guest on ESPN’s Mike&Mike, Kevin Love is now Cleveland for life! Who knew!
Quote transcribed by CBS Sports.
“Whether we lose two or three games in a row, or there’s a game where my statistical output isn’t necessarily what it should be, people are always going to talk,” Love said. “Since I was traded to Cleveland this summer, I’ve said since Day 1 that I’m a Cleveland Cavalier long term and I plan for it to be that way. If I could end all the speculation now, I would. But people are going to continue to talk no matter what.”
Love is averaing 17.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game so far in Cleveland.
Now those stats aren’t as good as when he was in Minnesota. That’s obvious. But this isn’t about him. This is about the whole squad. He cannot look at his stats and go “I’m not getting enough”.
It’s about the team.
