Since the firing of Coach Brian Shaw, the Denver Nuggets have won two in a row. They’re playing with a newfound effort since Shaw was let go and Melvin Hunt was given the interim tag as Head Coach.
The Nuggets straight up outplayed the Minnesota Timberwolves and picked up a 100-85 win on Wednesday night in Minnesota.
After the game, the question was asked if the newest and most senior member of the Timberwolves, Kevin Garnett, expected that kind of effort out of the Nuggets.
As seen in the video above, Kevin Garnett didn’t hold back and completely let everyone know how he felt about this Nuggets team. It is quite the interesting response after a team just beat you in your own home court, pretty handily.
The quote, if anything, showcases Garnetts’s mindset about effort and professionalism in the game of basketball. You can only imagine he’s trying to instill the same mentality he has in the young Wolves like Andrew Wiggins, Gorgui Dieng, Zach LaVine and Anthony Bennett.
He isn’t the only one thinking the Nuggets players showed a lack of professionalism and just didn’t play hard for Shaw. This is what Kevin Garnett feels he needs to teach the young players in Minnesota to avoid before he walks away from the game for good.
It seems like the locker room in the mile high city has some issues that they could fix this upcoming offseason.
