Man it seems like everybody is getting their own show/documentary. Iverson had one that went to TriBeCa. Kobe has one coming out, LeBron has two TV shows.
And now Kevin Durant will have his own reality TV show on HBO. The network announced it via press release.
HBO Sports, which has a rich tradition of provocative and engaging programming initiatives, is teaming up with Hollywood film and TV producer Jamie Patricof and reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant for the revealing reality special THE OFFSEASON: KEVIN DURANT, debuting TUESDAY, NOV. 4 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO.
The unscripted special is a first-person account of the life of the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar forward, from the moment his NBA Basketball season ended on May 31, until he reported to training camp for the upcoming season in late September. The concept for the film was created by Durant, Patricof and Rich Kleiman, Durant’s Roc Nation agent. THE OFFSEASON: KEVIN DURANT is directed by Brendan and Emmett Malloy.
“This is an exciting partnership, and we are delighted to work with an exceptional individual like Kevin Durant,” says Ken Hershman, president, HBO Sports. “He has a magnetic personality that enables fans to connect with him far beyond the hardwood and we look forward to a very revealing program.”
I’d give that a watch. Kevin Durant is an interesting player and HBO have picked no better time. The next couple of years will be pivotal for KD and HBO plan to cover the start of it so we can get a better understanding of what Kevin Durant is really about.
