
Kevin Durant has not suited up for the Golden State Warriors since March 14th against the Los Angeles Lakers. The former NBA MVP has been sidelined with what is being called an ‘incomplete rib cartilage fracture’ and his return would be determined at a later date. It now appears the Warriors have an idea of when KD will come back for the Warriors.
April 1st against the Phoenix Suns is the current target for a Durant return, just two days before the Warriors head to Oklahoma City for a matchup against the Thunder.
95.7 The Game in San Francisco recently spoke with Warriors GM Bob Myers about the health of his All-Stars and when they’re all expected to return.
Bob Myers, the ever-insightful president of basketball ops/GM for the Warriors, joined “The Greg Papa Show” with Bonta Hill and offered up timelines for the returns of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson.
*Curry (right ankle tweak): return Friday against the Hawks, barring any setbacks
*Durant (incomplete rib cartilage fracture): likely to be back by April 1
*Thompson (right thumb fracture): a “maybe” for Sunday against the Jazz
As for Draymond Green, who left Monday night’s loss with a pelvic contusion, he remains day-to-day.
Many were concerned about the Warriors heading into the final weeks of the season as all four of their stars were impacted by an injury in some way. Most of it appears to be precautionary measures to get healthy and prepare for a run into the playoffs and a possible fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals.
