Yesterday the Oklahoma City Thunder took on the San Antonio Spurs on Christmas Day. Kevin Durant was sidelined missing his 4th straight games, and now will miss tonight’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. Durant suffered a mild ankle sprain right before halftime against the Golden State Warriors on Dec.18 which has kept him sidelined ever since.
Durant is averaging 22.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists this season. The Thunder (13-16) have lost their past two out of three games and are 7-2 with Durant on the floor and just 6-14 without the reigning league MVP.
“I can’t play basketball, Durant said. I can’t run, I can’t cut. I can’t jump. I’m not just sitting out just because. If I could play I would play. But I can’t play.”
The Thunder were able to secure a win on Christmas over the Spurs but now head back to Oklahoma to take on the Hornets for the first time this season. Durant will miss tonight’s game making it his 5th straight. The Hornets are hot right now winning 4 straight but the Thunder aren’t bowing down just yet with a chip on their shoulder with a win against the defending champs.
Check out the Thunder take on the Hornets at 8 ET on League Pass.
