Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder have to be feeling pressure. After racing out to a commanding 3-1 series lead vs. the Golden State Warriors, the Dubs have come racing back to even the series at three wins apiece. Now, the Thunder have to play game seven in Oakland –the Warriors’ home turf. Thunder star Kevin Durant has struggled on the offensive end in recent games, but he doesn’t sound at all concerned about performing in game seven. From ESPN’s Tim MacMahon:
Kevin Durant doesn’t seem stressed about shooting 34.9 percent from the floor (30-of-86) in the last three games. “On the offensive end, you don’t have to worry about me because I’m a professional scorer,” Durant told reporters after the Thunder’s Sunday practice. “And I know how I’ve been doing this for so long. I’m not saying I’m going to have a great game every night or I’m going to shoot well every night, but I tend to figure things out on the offensive end.”
Sounds like Durant is staying calm and level-headed, which is absolutely the right attitude to have. Some players might get in their own heads, causing their play to suffer. But not Durant. As he said, he’s a professional scorer. He’s one of the best scorers to ever pick up a basketball, and chances are, he will figure things out.
