Every NBA fan is hoping that Kevin Durant recovers nicely from his foot injury. He’s one of best and most entertaining players in the league, and fans have missed seeing him play, particularly in this year’s playoffs.
Durant plans on practicing with Team USA in Las Vegas according to his agent, which is a sign that he’s feeling better.
From Sam Amick of USA Today Sports:
According to his agent, Rich Kleiman of Roc Nation Sports, and his manager, Charlie Bell, the Oklahoma City Thunder star who played just 27 games last season because of a fracture in his right foot plans to practice on Tuesday and Wednesday with Team USA at minicamp in Las Vegas. Durant will not, however, take part in the showcase game on Thursday at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center.
Obviously, Durant is still recovering, and it’s probably the smart choice not to participate in the showcase game. The news that he will practice is very encouraging though. 34 totals players are expected to participate in the practice at the minicamp.
This is an important season for Durant. He needs to prove that he’s still able to play at superstar level after his injury, especially since he will be a free agent next summer. His play this season will affect the size of his next contract, and probably who he signs with as well, although the primary candidates seem to be the Thunder and the Wizards.
