Steve Kerr’s back condition has been the cause of concern for nearly two years, now. The Golden State Warriors head coach missed much of last season while rehabbing from symptoms of spinal fluid leakage after back surgery. As the postseason started this year, Kerr was once again forced to leave the sidelines to deal with the issue.
On Wednesday, Warriors forward Kevin Durant (who just returned from an injury of his own) was asked about Kerr’s situation. KD put it into perspective, maintaining that Kerr’s health is the only important matter:

The Warriors have not missed a beat thus far without Kerr, dominating the Blazers in game four to advance to the second round after sweeping their Northwest rivals. Mike Brown seems to have the respect of the locker room as the interim head coach, presumably giving Kerr all the time he needs to sort out his health.
Durant hit the nail on the head here. We all want to see Steve Kerr back on the sidelines coaching the Warriors. But his long-term health is the significantly more important issue here. Here’s hoping for the best.
