Russell Westbrook is a one in a lifetime player. The man can literally do it all and he never loses energy. The man is a literal lightning bolt. With all this boss play we are now wondering whether Oklahoma City is now Russell Westbrook’s team instead of Kevin Durant.
Now no shade to KD, but Westbrook is better, KD is a scoring machine and he will forever get buckets but Russ is something else. Wherever you are on the argument, KD says him and Westbrook are practically family.
Although he acknowledged that there are “times we cuss each other out,” Durant described Westbrook as someone he trusts and “can lean on.”
“There’s times where we go at it,” Durant told The Oklahoman. “There’s times I don’t like what he’s doing out on the court. There’s times where he hates what I’m doing out on the court. There’s times where it’s ‘Russ, you gotta control your attitude,’ or ‘KD, you gotta stop, you gotta speak up,’ whatever.
“There’s times we cuss each other out, but that’s a part of being brothers. Because I know if I need something, he’ll be there and if I need to talk to someone outside of basketball, he’ll be there. It’s a real brotherhood type relationship. We’re like family.“
I’m wondering if this is KD confirming that Westbrook will not be the reason for him leaving (that’s if he does leave.) It’s clear they’re good teammates and the team needs both of them. I don’t think the team can function without both of them at the helm.
