Since Kevin Durant made the decision to join the Golden State Warriors two summers ago, a lot has been made about the relationship between him and ex-teammate Russell Westbrook. The uneasiness between the two has been deep-rooted and discussed over and over, so it’s no surprise they get asked endlessly about each other the one time they’re teammates during All-Star Weekend.
However, as opposed to the last couple years, Durant gave a much more thorough answer when asked about his relationship with Russ. Following from The Athletic’s Anthony Slater:
KD blamed himself for what seemed like icy relationship between him and Westbrook at ASW last year, it's been better this year, said he f***** it up acting like it was a thing and just needed to get out of his own head pic.twitter.com/xdIM5NAJkJ

Durant and Westbrook seem to be turning a corner in their relationship as they attempt to fix something that came badly unraveled. Durant at least addressing that he could’ve done things better is a major step in the right direction.
Of course, Westbrook wasn’t going to be able to escape the questions about his ex-teammate either. Westbrook took a calmer approach to the question but he did confirm that the two were talking. Following from Erik Horne of The Oklahoman:
Russell Westbrook said he and Kevin Durant at All-Star are communicating: “All the other stuff is irrelevant. Just keeping it cool. Talking when we need to.” pic.twitter.com/onoQP6GxVw

Hopefully, the two are able to put their differences aside for longer than one weekend and work on patching up their relationship. These comments are at least encouraging, and all eyes will be on them when they take the floor together tomorrow in the All-Star Game for Team LeBron.
