The Oklahoma City Thunder have played numerous games this year without stars Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant. Despite all of that, they’re still only two games out of the final playoff spot in the west.
After playing Monday night against the Timberwolves with out the reigning MVP, OKC once again will be without Durant tonight when they face the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
It’s not like it should really matter, as the Thunder will still have Westbrook, and well its the Knicks we’re talking about. OKC this season is 14-7 when both their stars play, 5-5 when only Westbrook plays, and 4-10 when missing the dynamic duo.
With a rusty Westbrook returning from a 14-game absence, Oklahoma City beat the Knicks by 37 in November. The chances that New York can escape with a victory tonight seem to be slim to none, but the great thing about sports is anything can happen. Just the probibility of something shocking tonight is rare.
The real sufferers tonight are the fans who will be in attendance at MSG who were hoping to see Durant play.
