Kevin Durant is your 2013-2014 MVP, and rightfully so. Durant averaged 32 PTS 7 REB and 5 AST per game, which helped lead Oklahoma City to a 59-23 record. Oklahoma City claimed the number two seed in the Western Conference and Durant showed stretches of being unstoppable. With Russell Westbrook banged up for a good portion of the season Durant really had to carry The Thunder. Durant had a stretch of 41 games where he averaged at least 25 points per game which broke Michael Jordan’s old streak of 40. Kevin Durant also won his fourth scoring title this season. Durant is the first player since Allen Iverson in 2001 to win the MVP award and a scoring title in the same season. Durant winning the MVP was just another piece of hardware to add to his already hefty resume, and now Durant’s eyes are set on winning an NBA title.
