Kevin Durant’s free agency will be the biggest storyline of this offseason. Durant has been linked to a variety of teams: The Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, and San Antonio Spurs, to name a few. Or, he could stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant’s former teammate Kendrick Perkins recently said that Durant will look at a few different teams.
Nobody knows what Durant’s going to do, not even his mother Wanda Pratt. From Ben Standig of CSN Mid-Atlantic:
“I don’t know what his ultimate decision will be,” Pratt said of her son, the star forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder.”I don’t know what his ultimate decision will be,” Pratt said of her son, the star forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
…
“Where he’s going to end playing has still not been decided by him,” Pratt kindly responded. “He’s still playing in the playoffs as everyone knows. I don’t know [his plans] so don’t say Mama Durant said [he’s coming to Washington] because I didn’t say that. He’s focused on the playoffs right now and he’s pretty loyal to the Thunder with regards to that. When the time comes, he’ll make a decision best for him.”
Whichever team winds up signing Durant will be winning the lottery in terms of NBA talent. Durant’s one of the best two or three players in the world right now, and at the age of 27, he’s got plenty of good years left.
