Kevin Durant is very active on social media, both on Twitter and YouTube. On Monday, Durant posted on the “Community” section of his YouTube Channel asking his subscribers a question: “Narrative or skill? Which one matters more to you?”
A few comments later, a user (Joe Deezy) responded saying that LeBron James was better than Durant. Durant stated his disagreement with a simple “Nah.”
This really isn’t a huge shock. The best 10 or 15 players in the NBA almost certainly each believe that they’re the best player in the world, and each of them should. After all, just to make it to the NBA, a player has to have the utmost confidence in himself, and that confidence probably increases substantially once a player hits certain milestones, such as making the All-Star Game or All-NBA teams.
Given his multitudinous accolades (to name a few – MVP, Finals MVP, eight-time All-Star, four-time socring champion, seven-time All-NBAer, 50-40-90 club), it’s not at all surprising that Durant considers himself to be the best player in the world, or at least on par with LeBron James. And he should feel that way.
