Stephen A. Smith, the eccentric and often dramatic face of ESPN’s show ‘First Take’, continues to go with this idea of the Los Angeles Lakers somehow building a super team in the city of angels.
Smith has recently talked about a power trio of Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony teaming up and chasing a ring with the Lakers. Smith has also said the only way that Kevin Durant leaves OKC is to play for his hometown Washington Wizards. Which one is it?
Previously Melo and Bryant came to an agreement that the two wouldn’t work together with their similar playing styles. But of course, Smith has to stir the pot up with a subtle message to Lakers fans.
It’s not going to happen. It is interesting that it could happen but it won’t. Smith also went on to bring up the point of Bryant not finishing his career with the Lakers so what exactly is Smith trying to say? Will the trio meet up with the Knicks or somewhere else? Who knows, especially considering that John Wall has already said he would be going out of his way to make a pitch to Kevin Durant to head home and play for the Wizards.
The idea of KD2LA might not work out too well.
