On Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors will try to end the Boston Celtics’ 13-game win streak and continue on a win streak of their own, one that currently sits at seven victories.
In anticipation of that matchup, the Warriors have had some truly kind things to say about the Celtics. First, head coach Steve Kerr called the C’s “the team of the future in the East” and raved about what they’ve been doing. Now it’s Kevin Durant complimenting the Celtics’ young talent:
Durant: "Jaylen Brown has taken that next step… And Tatum is another guy who is playing efficient basketball. For a rookie, that's kind of unheard of.

Durant is certainly right about Brown’s step forward; he’s averaging 14.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game after averaging 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in his rookie season. He’s also upped his 3-point shooting from 34.1 percent to 37.3 percent.
Interestingly, Durant is right about Tatum as well; his production as a rookie, in terms of efficiency, is unheard of. Through 15 games, Tatum is averaging 14 points and 5.7 rebounds per game on an impressive 63.4 percent true shooting.
No rookie has ever averaged at least 14 points on 63 percent-plus true shooting.
The Celtics-Warriors game will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will air on TNT.
