Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant is coming into next season fresh off of a serious foot injury that resulted in his getting a bone graft surgery, which is typically a nagging one. The season before last, KD turned in one of the most memorable performances in recent memory and came away with the MVP Award. Last season, plenty of up and coming names entered the race for best player on the planet such as Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, and even James Harden. Oh yeah, there’s also some dude named LeBron James still prospering in the NBA. Many people are writing Durant off due to his injury and a plethora of new young talent. However, KD still thinks he’s at the top of the food chain. Following from Vincent Goodwill of CSNChicago:
KD: "No disrespect to anyone else but I feel like I'm the best player in the world."

There is no doubt about it, Durant is easily the best offensive player we’ve seen in quite some time with his complete arsenal. All around, a legitimate case could’ve been made during his MVP season but right now we need to see how far along he is healthwise. However, as a competitor you need to always believe that you’re the best of the best.
Personally I think Durant is going to come out this season with a massive chip on his shoulder and show us all why he thinks this way. I believe with James on the decline and KD nearing his prime, he’ll ultimately take home the MVP Award in a heavy field once again. And who knows after this season, maybe everyone will agree with Durant that he is the best player on Earth, it is definitely possible.
