After what seems like a very long wait, Kevin Durant will finally be making his return to the hardwood Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Today, Durant went through a full practice for the Warriors in preparation for tomorrow’s return.
Following from Chris Haynes of ESPN.
Kevin Durant participated in a full practice session Friday and said he’s “excited to go out there” and make his return after missing the last five weeks with a knee injury.
“Today was one of those days where I went out there and played, and practiced with the guys and I felt normal,” said Durant, who will return to the Golden State Warriors‘ lineup Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans. “I’ve been waiting for that feeling for a couple of weeks now.”
In addition, head coach Steve Kerr made it known that Durant would also be playing without a minutes restriction in his first game back.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after consulting with the training staff, there will not be a minutes restriction placed Durant since his knee is completely healed.
“If he gets fatigued, then I’m going to take him out,” Kerr said.
This adds an even bigger dimension to Durant’s return Saturday and will give him a chance to fully get his feet under him as the playoffs are approaching.
