The summer of 2016 will become the summer of Kevin Durant for obvious reasons. He’s one of the best players in the NBA and his services will be fully available as he anticipates to be courted by numerous NBA teams because of his undeniable skills plus about 20 NBA teams will have max money available to spend on Durant and others.
One team expected to have a ton of money is the Philadelphia 76ers. The young, up and coming squad has some bright spots on the roster but for the most part, their recent history has been abysmal.
Could Durant be the difference maker in the future of the Philadelphia 76ers? Well, for Philly fans, him meeting with an old friend of his and a current Sixers assistant might give them a glimmer of hope.

Could KD join the 76ers? Who the hell knows. There has been a number of teams from the Washington Wizards, to the Boston Celtics and even the San Antonio Spurs rumored to be interested in Durant’s services and KD’s lack of strong commitment doesn’t help the Thunder’s case to keep him.
I’m still putting my money on Zach Lowe’s idea. KD signs a 1+1 contract, much like LeBron James did with the second year opt-out, and he becomes a free agent in 2017 when Russell Westbrook hits the market and the salary cap is also expected to increase dramatically. It’s a smart business decision for KD and he, much like everybody else, is all about his money.
