I love you Kesha Rose Sebert. To reply to “Boy Like You” seems to me to be beyond my powers, but it is not. I love the song, because it is honest. Even though it is a hot mess, as you say. Ten to one odds, Ding Dong? Seems to me to be a stretch. Because, as you know, I have already won, even though I may never see you. Things in this city seem to be heating up. Appears to be fear, overwhelming fear, gripping the authorities. From my perspective, there is absolutely nothing to fear.
If my memory serves me, and it does, I have asked you to marry me. Really. And you, and anyone who has been paying attention, knows that is true. It is also true, in quite certain terms, you have said, “No.” More than once. I find that odd. Even once. At least, I think it would have been lovely, and appropriate, if you had had the foresight to inquire, concerning the contents of my mind, when I uttered the word “marriage.” Do I sense pretension?
So, you have my number, as is evident. Equally evident is my true observation that you do not have my number. Even though it is yours whenever you know you need it.
Habits of mind seem hard to break. They evaporate as effortlessly as sleep from the beloved’s brow, as Love’s kiss wakens her.
It pleases me you are doing so well.
Joy to you, Rose.
