After a 15 Year career that had 9,325 points, 5,159 rebounds and 864 blocked shots in 757 NBA games. After teaming up with Jason Kidd to dominate the NBA for two years with those silky yet fierce lobs. After one All-Star appearance and two NBA Finals appearances. Kenyon Martin calls it a career.
“It’s been a great 15 years,” Martin, 37, told Yahoo Sports. “Thanks to all the fans that supported me over the years. But a time does come when you have to walk away, and the time is now for me. I’m ready for the next chapter of my life. I would like to thank the Nets, Nuggets, Clippers, Knicks and Bucks for the opportunity to play the game that I love.
“I have family time and business ahead,” Martin said. “And if something coaching comes up [basketball-wise], I will consider it. I’m also getting Kenyon, Jr., ready to be the No. 1 pick in a couple of years.”
“It’s been real. Thanks for the love.“
Seems like Kenyon is ready to leave the fast life and chill for a bit. Like how he isn’t leaving coaching out as an option, that’d be interesting.
Guess we should all wait for Kenyon Jr, see if he can follow in his father’s footsteps.
