If you’re not a fan of the MLS or football (Soccer in your case) in general. Sponsorship are a big drive in any clubs revenue. So much that the main sponsor is plastered on thier shirts.
Chelsea have Samsung, Manchester City have Etihad Airways. And according to Bleacher Report, the Rutherford Raiders, a team based in Kent, England. Attempted to have Pornhub as their sponsor.
The Rutherford Raiders, a club in a Kent-based league made up of players from universities in England, struggled to find any shirt sponsors.
So as a complete joke, they decided to put the name of an adult website, PornHub, on the front of their shirts.
When the website heard about the club’s humourous move, it figured it should sponsor the guys for their faith.
The University of Kent balked at the move, though, and threatened that the team would face a banning from the league.
“The University of Kent sports department would never sanction sponsorship of this type—it is totally inappropriate,” university spokesman Martin Herrema said, per The Mirror. “The team has been spoken with and will not be allowed to wear the shirts in question at any time.
This is amazing. You don’t have to be English to find this funny. Imagine if Pornhub’s initials was on an NFL helmet? Exactly. Funny.
Safe to say. Pornhub will not be accepted as a shirt sponsor any time soon.
