When I strangely heard yesterday that the Dolphins might like Kenny Stills more than Jarvis Landry, I just laughed. Well, step one has been completed… Ian Rapoport reported that Kenny Stills will be back in Miami for another 4 years. This happened oddly not too long after it was reported that Stills would not be back in Miami.
WR Kenny Stills is returning to the #Dolphins, source said. He’s informed his teammates.

Before we discuss the guaranteed money, it looks like Stills will be receiving $32 million over 4 years. Now…on to what Stills is really here for… the guarantee. Although Adam Schefter was first told he was getting $8 million guaranteed, it turns out he is getting a crazy $20 million. An amount that seems very high for the amount of the whole contract.
Correction: Dolphins gave WR Kenny Stills a four-year, $32 million deal that includes $20 million guaranteed.

Although Stills had a great season for not too high of expectations, this is a pretty lofty contract for not even being the best receiver on his own team.
Kenny thrived in his second season in Miami, catching 9 touchdowns, while he had only caught 12 in his first three years. The Dolphins must be assuming that Stills will continue to break out if they are giving the 5th year receiver this kind of money guaranteed.
Miami had a surprising playoff birth this past season and will be looking to keep up with the Patriots in the AFC East.
