It’s no secret that the Brooklyn Nets are in the middle of a long rebuild. Since a failed experiment in trading for out-of-their-prime superstars, the Nets have struggled on the court.
The team seemed to take a step forward this offseason through the hiring of a new general manager and head coach. That has not necessarily translated to wins on the court, but it has shown some signs of a better future.
Through this entire rebuilding process, only one thing has remained constant for the Nets. That is the presence of Brook Lopez. The talented center has remained in Brooklyn despite the team bottoming out in the Eastern Conference. He has been the one all-star level player during that time.
It’s not very common for a star player to stay on board with a rebuild without any rumors of chemistry issues. But that’s what Lopez has done and head coach Kenny Atkinson is showing his appreciation for that:

Brook Lopez sadly goes a bit unnoticed in the NBA world these days, as a factor of the team he plays for. But his coach is making sure everyone notices his professionalism and leadership inside the NEts’ organization.
