I feel so sorry for Kenneth Faried. I really do. I mean, he’s such an energetic player and even though he’s small for a power forward, he still gets it done.
But Ty Lawson was the main reason we barely saw Faried’s flaws. You do know that Faried sucks on offense past rebounding and dunking? Literally everything else he can’t do on a consistent basis. He’s basically a smaller DeAndre Jordan. Lawson masked some of his flaws because he’s such a great playmaker, but now that Lawson is gone, what’s Faried going to do? He mentioned recently that he was hurt by the Lawson trade, but only because he and Ty were bros, not because of the lack of offensive creativity.
“Basketball,” Faried said. “Nature of the beast. I’m not part of the business side I’m part of the playing side. I just want to get up-and-down and play the game. It hurt me because that was my best friend but it’s the nature of the beast. You’ve got to live with it.”
Faried is lucky he got Emmanuel Mudiay, because he would not survive if he didn’t have a point guard hooking him up.
And surely he must be a little miffed that Lawson is going to a title contender while he continues to play for the “head just above water” Denver Nuggets.
