Kenneth Faried and the Denver Nuggets have had their ups and downs for some time now. They’re truly a rollercoaster squad, multiple injuries, effecting chemistry.
Kenneth Faried however. Has had a half decent year in my opinion. He was the spirit of Team USA in the World Cup this past summer. He should’ve won the MVP of the tournament (I don’t care what you all say). But lately. He’s been a little deflated and he knows it.
Faried talked to the Denver Post about his season so far. He wasn’t easy on himself.
Kenneth Faried knew the question before it had been fully asked. His answer cut off the query before its conclusion.
Kenneth, how do you feel about your seas …
“Awful,” he said.
Awful?
“Awful.“
You can see where this is going can’t you?
“I just haven’t been playing my game,” Faried said. “I know it. My teammates know it. My coaches know it. Hopefully, this month of December, I turn everything around. But for me, it’s awful. You’ve got to be able to look at yourself, look at the man in the mirror and say that to yourself. And be able to correct yourself.”
Faried’s averages — 11.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 50 percent shooting — all are down from last season. And this was to be the season of his true ascension, when he built upon his strong finish of 2013-14. It still can be.
What needs correcting?
“Everything,” he said. “Everything.”
Not just one category?
“Nope, just everything.“
Man this guy is depressing. I think he is being too hard on himself. Sure his stats are down. But we have so much season left. Think about it. A couple of winning streaks here and there. The occasional dominating performance. Yes, he’s been mediocre up to now. But he can easily get his game up.
Chin up Kenneth.
