More and more rumors. This was has been heard many times, by many different people in the league so it is warranted. The Denver Nuggets don’t like Kenneth Faried. Ever since they signed him to that massive contract in the summer, they have been regretting it. Now we hear even more evidence, that Faried isn’t catching a break with the Nuggets.
According to Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN:
Several sources around the league insist the Nuggets’ hand was forced with regard to Faried. After the signing of Hickson to a three-year, approximately $16 million contract soon after Connelly’s arrival, the sense was the bouncy big man was insurance against Faried’s departure in free agency in 2014. Faried was a fan favorite in Denver, but multiple sources with knowledge of the Nuggets’ thinking maintain the team “isn’t crazy about him,” particularly Shaw. But with Faried’s boffo showing last summer with Team USA and a loyal following in Denver, the media-conscious Nuggets caved, adding yet another imperfect 4-man to their lot.
Arnovitz went on to say:
“[Faried] is a helluva player and plays hard, but he isn’t well liked [in the organization],” a league source said. “That gets glossed over. He says crazy s—. He thinks he’s the guy, and other guys take exception to his contract.”
Kenneth Faried has been mentioned in numerous trade talks including Toronto, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and even the Hornets but nothing has been even close to getting done. The big man is extremely talented and embodies a player who hustles, works hard, and can out rebound a lot of players. That is why he is the manimal. It’s strange as to why the Nuggets don’t like him but either way, you can definitely see him in a lot of trade discussions for a failing and struggling Denver Nuggets team.
