Lebron James and Kevin Love say they aren’t best friends. Lebron says he’s frustrated with Kevin Love “not getting the picture.”
Kevin Love says Lebron James is not this years MVP. Like Betty White, it’s getting hot in Cleveland, or is it?
Cavs teammate Kendrick Perkins says what’s going on between Lebron and Love is no big deal at all.
“What people don’t understand is that this is not a place that requires you to be best friends,” Perkins told reporters. “I think sometimes people don’t realize that this is work for us. So when you go to work every day, that doesn’t mean your co-worker has to be your best friend. This is our job. You don’t have to be best friends to come out here and work together.”
“I turn on ESPN and I see, ‘No Love for K-Love,’ or something like that, and it’s kind of silly to me,” Perkins said. “I haven’t seen anything to the point that it’s drama. I don’t think Ray and KG were best buddies in Boston. I was best friends with Rondo. I hung out with KG a little bit, but I wasn’t best friends with him.”
Chemistry is everything when winning basketball games, but that doesn’t mean you have to love your teammates off the court. The Cavs are currently one of the hottest teams in the league, and other than the Hawks, don’t have much competition is the Eastern Conference.
It will be interesting to see, if the Cavs can win this years NBA title, if these Love and Lebron issues will simmer down. Kobe and Shaq won together and really weren’t too fond with each other, but that’s just one example and Shaq eventually left.
Stay tuned next week for the Reality TV series that is the Cleveland Cavaliers.
