Ken Jennings will host the first episodes of Jeopardy! since the passing of longtime host Alex Trebek.
“Alex believed in the importance of ‘Jeopardy!’ and always said that he wanted the show to go on after him,” Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards said.
“We will honor Alex’s legacy by continuing to produce the game he loved with smart contestants and challenging clues. By bringing in familiar guest hosts for the foreseeable future, our goal is to create a sense of community and continuity for our viewers.”
Jennings was a popular contestant on the show prior to Trebek’s death. Most recently, he won the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions.
Jennings is the first host in a series of guest hosts. Production is set to resume on November 30. There is no word as to when the episodes will air.
