The Charlotte Hornets have slipped up in terms of the Playoff Picture. They are currently 10th in the East. 1 1/2 games back on 8th seed Miami. (who own the tiebreaker against Boston) The Hornets have 8 games remaining. Only three of them are at home. They’re cutting it very fine if they want to play some Playoff basketball. In their last 10 games they are 3-7 which is poor compared to the teams above them.
Despite the possible doom and gloom. Kemba Walker is staying positive. There has been a lot of backlash stemming from Steve Clifford’s mental decision to bench Lance Stephenson. But according to the Charlotte Observer. Kemba is backing his coach.
“It has nothing to do with him,” Walker said of the Hornets sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference, two spots out of the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. “He does a great job, he’s a fantastic coach. He always does his best to give us the right game plan, to try and get wins.
“I’m 100 percent behind him. I believe in him.”
“It was no (coincidence) we got to the playoffs last season,” Walker said of Clifford’s coaching.
“It hasn’t been the best season for us this year, but he is definitely not to blame. We’re the ones out there playing, we’re the ones who have to execute, we’re the ones who have to win those games. I think it’s on us.“
This is nearly bolstering the case of LeBron and how he seemingly coaches more than David Blatt.
I don’t think it is on anybody. Charlotte was just one of those teams that were injured often. Kemba had time out. Al Jefferson had time out. When they were all together they were alright but they just haven’t had much time to play together. And that’s shown in their record.
