Kelly Oubre is a forward out of Kansas who is currently ranked 12th on Chad Ford’s Top 100 list of this year’s NBA prospects. In our most recent mock draft we have Oubre being drafted 14th overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Oubre probably thinks that he deserves to be drafted first overall though. This kid does not lack confidence. Check out these comments from Oubre.
From the Twitter of Deseret News’ Jody Genessy:
Attn: NBA executives, Kelly Oubre just called his shot: "Whoever calls my name on draft night, I’m going to help them win a championship."

Kelly Oubre said he’s studied Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. "I feel like I can be as good as or better than those guys."

These are huge statements. Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard are two of the league’s premiere perimeter defenders and are also very good on the offensive end. James Harden was runner-up for the MVP award, and is arguably the best scorer in the league. Oubre didn’t stop at just those comments though.
“I’m not a slouch,” Oubre promised. “I’m gonna be one of the greatest to ever play the game.”
Wow. Just wow. Whether or not Oubre can achieve the colossal expectations he has set for himself, one thing is for sure: He’s got confidence through the roof.
