In a surprisingly great match, 10th-seeded Kei Nishikori came out strong and even with the loss in the second set, Japan’s finest didn’t let up. Top-seed and number one in the world Novak Djokovic did not provide his best showing, however, it wasn’t his worst. Today just wasn’t his day as the 24 year-old Nishikori won in four sets — 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 — at Arthur Ashe Stadium in scorching 90 degree weather.
With the final on Monday, Nishikori is looking to make more history by winning it all.
