NBA point guard Kay Felder has been arrested for assaulting and choking a woman according to TMZ. The 23-year old was arrested near Toronto in the early morning of December 3rd.
TMZ notes that Felder and the woman got into an argument the night before, resulting in him choking her and leaving visible marks. The victim had enough time to call a family member, who then called the police. TMZ adds that Felder and the woman had known each other for a long time. He was released from custody and is due in court later this month.
The 2016 NBA Draft pick has bounced around the NBA and G League, but his latest stop is immediately over. The Raptors 905, the G League affiliate for Toronto, put out a statement that signals that they cut ties with Kay Felder.
“On Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, Raptors 905 guard Kay Felder was charged by police in connection with an allegation of domestic violence. Raptors 905 have waived Felder, effective immediately. As this matter is before the courts, Raptors 905 will not comment further.”
Kay Felder has bounced around the NBA quite a bit in his short career. He was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks. He spent time with the Chicago Bulls and was subsequently waived. Felder also played for the Detroit Pistons, near where he played collegiate basketball.
