The San Antonio Spurs will likely be without superstar forward Kawhi Leonard for the entire duration of the preseason, the team announced on Saturday.
Leonard is rehabbing an injured right quadriceps and an official timeline for his return will be determined at a later date:

San Antonio hosted its annual end-of-camp scrimmage on Saturday, but Leonard did not attend. He was given the day off by the team.
The Spurs will play five preseason games from October 2 to October 13, with their first game set to be on the road against Sacramento on Monday. They’ll play three games at home in San Antonio.
Leonard is coming off the best season of his NBA career, averaging a career-high 25.5 points to go along with 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He was named an NBA All-Star for the second consecutive season.
The Spurs were eliminated in the Playoffs this spring by the Golden State Warriors. Leonard suffered a series-ending injury after a questionable over-closeout by Warriors center Zaza Pachulia.
San Antonio will open the regular season at home on October 18 when they host the new look Minnesota Timberwolves.
