Katy Perry faced serious criticism when a new line of her loafers and sandals appeared at Dillard’s and Walmart. The new shoes arrived in both a cream color and a black color with exaggerated facial features that resembled blackface.
According to a report from TMZ, Perry had a direct hand in designing and releasing these specific pair of shoes. After receiving negative feedback, Perry issued a statement that read, ” In order to be respectful and sensitive the team is in the process of pulling the shoes.” As of yesterday, the line of shoes had begun the process of being removed at all retailers.
