Dan Graziano of ESPN reported that the Kansas City sent Hunt home after the video was released earlier today.
I am told the Chiefs sent Kareem Hunt home from the facility today upon learning of the release of the video and pending further action. Most likely short-term resolution is that Hunt would be placed on the commissioner's exempt list pending a final decision, but we will see.

Most NFL players have stayed silent on the Hunt situation but former Chiefs running back Larry Johnson went to Twitter to disclose his disappointment in Hunt. After joining the NFL in 2003, Johnson was arrested at least six times. Five of those arrests were various levels of assault charges against women, four times he was arrested when he was an active NFL player.
I thought I made my mistakes painfully clear!!!!
I thought I was a perfect example of what NOT to do!!!!
I thought by speaking aloud about my pitfalls that players after me could see these situations before they’d happen.
REALLY FUCKING UPSET KAREEM……

Hunt made a statement following his release.
A statement from soon-to-be former #Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt: “I want to apologize for my actions. I deeply regret what I did. I hope to move on from this.”

The Chiefs make the move right at a time where the Saints grip of the NFL seems to have loosened after their loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night.
