Fashion-forward rapper KANYE WEST has dismissed reports he is designing a limited edition pair of Nike Air Jordans, insisting he has not been approached by the sports brand.
The Stronger hitmaker and entrepreneur has already linked up with Louis Vuitton and Nike to create two different sneaker lines and he was rumoured to be expanding on his shoe deals by teaming up with Air Jordan bosses.
But West has shot down the claims.
In a post on his blog, he writes, “I love Nike and I loved creating with them but there hasn’t been a convo (conversation) with Brand Jordan… Nike and Brand Jordan are two different companies.”
West launched the Nike Air Yeezy sneakers earlier this year (09). The Air Jordan signature shoes were created by Nike for basketball icon Michael Jordan in the 1980s and the sportswear firm later developed a separate merchandising division named the Jordan Brand.
