We’re less than forty eight hours in to 2019 and Kanye West has managed to carry his madness into the new year. To kick off the year, West carried on his ongoing dispute with Drake regarding his interactions with Kim Kardashian. From there, West claimed to have had a conversation with Joe Rogan about appearing on his podcast. Today, West continued to make headlines when he allegedly pulled out of Coachella because of disputes regarding the stage.
Kanye West was recently in contact with Goldenvoice, the organization that oversees Coachella, about performing in April at this year’s festival. According to a report from TMZ, negotiations between the two sides fell through when the subject of the size of the stage came up. Coachella traditionally gives all performers, including Beyonce, a 60×40 stage, but West believes the restriction to be “archaic”. When Goldenvoice refused to give into West’s request, West promptly moved to not perform at this year’s festival.
If the two sides refuse to revisit the matter, Goldenvoice has other plans for a headliner. TMZ reports that other superstar acts like Justin Timberlake, Childish Gambino and Rihanna are in consideration to headline the festival. There are no further reports about supporting acts throughout the two weekend festival.
