Earlier this year, Kanye West pledged to do more for those in his area. Recently, he has done some good to follow through on his promise. Last week, it was revealed that Kanye West donated $150,000 to the family of Jemel Roberson. Roberson was murdered by police in a Chicago suburb while working as a security guard. This week, West has turned his philanthropic efforts towards his current residence in California.
Following a rash of devastating wildfires in California, West has used his Yeezy Brand to raise $500,000 for relief efforts in California. According to a report from TMZ, Mrs. Kardashian-West made the news public during taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. While promoting her “Glam Bible”, Kim shifted focus toward the recent wildfires in California. At this point, Kardashian-West presented Ellen Degeneres with two $200,000 checks. One check was issued to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund and the other was issued to the California Fire Foundation. The final check of $100,000 was issued to firefighter Michael Williams, who lost his home while saving the homes of his neighbors.
