Throughout his career, Kanye West has never been shy to share his political views. From his infamous comments about George Bush to meeting up with Donald Trump, West has always made his voice heard in regards to politics. Most recently, the Chicago native donated over $73,000 to Chicago mayoral candidate, Amara Eniya. This weekend, West continued his trend of making political statements.

In an effort to combine his fashion interests with his political consciousness, West has designed ‘Blexit’ t-shirts. The shirt is designed to play off the recent Brexit movement by encouraging Black Americans not to support the Democratic party in the upcoming midterm elections.
According to the New York Post, the t-shirt first appeared at Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit on Saturday in Washington, D.C. Turning Point USA Communications Director, Candace Owens, commented on the t-shirt by saying, “Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West.” Owen later added that West “has taken one of the boldest steps in America to open a conversation we have needed to have.”
