The Kansas Jayhawks unfortunately did not make the Final Four. They were the most popular pick to make the Final Four, so if your bracket was somehow in tact before Kansas’ meet with Villanova, it’s definitely done now. Only 0.009% of people that entered a bracket got the correct Final Four.
But now it’s time for some of the Jayhawks to consider what’s next for them. One particular ‘1 & Done’ is Cheick Diallo who is a native of Mali (Google it). He will test the NBA Draft waters, but without an agent.
He will not hire an agent, meaning Diallo can attend the NBA draft combine and still return to Kansas. The deadline to withdraw from the draft is May 25.
Diallo was ranked No. 7 in the 2015 class but played just 202 minutes as a freshman, sitting out of five of Kansas’ final seven games. Diallo served a five-game suspension at the start of the season for receiving extra benefits and never truly carved out a role for Bill Self’s Jayhawks. The 6-foot-9 forward had 13 points and six rebounds in his first game in December, but that was the high point of his season.
For Cheick Diallo, it’s all a matter of proving yourself, the suspension, the 202 minutes total won’t exactly help your case. But with the no agent thing, that’ll probably say that he’s just going to look at how everything works. He’s a raw talent, that’s clear, he just needs the right guidance.
