Vice President Kamala Harris says she’s willing and able to fulfill the duties of her running mate, Joe Biden, if necessary. During a recent episode of Face The Nation, Margaret Brennan asked about her ability to serve as President as many of Biden’s political opponents continue to raise concerns about his age.
“Yes, I am, if necessary,” she told Brennan.
With that said, Harris appears to have little fear that Biden will be able to serve another term in the White House if he is re-elected next year.
“But Joe Biden is going to be fine,” Harris explained to Brennan.
“And let me tell you something: I work with Joe Biden every day.”
It appears that many of Biden’s biggest critics also hope that he is in good health. During her conversation with the Vice President, Brennan also played audio of her Republican critics fearful of what Harris would do if she were to assume the role of President.
“I pray every night for Joe Biden’s good health – not only because he’s our president, but because of who our vice-president is,” former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said.
“As bad as Biden did, it would get worse,” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis added.
Despite criticism from her Republican counterparts, Harris is confident that she and Biden will defeat the GOP nominee and return to Capitol Hill for another four years.
“They feel the need to attack because they’re scared that we will win based on the merit of the work that Joe Biden and I, and our administration, has done,” Harris commented.
The Biden-Harris ticket leads the second-place nominee, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., by more than 50 points in the polls. In a general election, President Biden appears to be the favorite in a hypothetical race with Ron DeSantis, but is locked into a tight contest with former President Donald Trump.
